This original print by local artist Matt Wilde captures a summer day in Manchester, by the iconic Britons Protection pub on Great Bridgewater Street. The artist’s trade mark technique of merging painting with collage is particularly noticeable in this piece, where half of the people are made out of collage, while the others have clearly been painted on the canvas.

Matt Wilde is best known as a painter of his urban landscapes, urban surroundings, daily commutes, consumerism and waste issues. Based in Warrington, Matt is an exhibition artist and is represented by Artzu Gallery in Manchester city centre. Matt has also exhibited his work in other established institutes, such as; Watergate Street gallery, Chester, Harris Museum and Art gallery, Preston, Gallery on the Square, St Ives Cornwall, Turnpike gallery, Leigh, View Two Gallery (Liverpool), Warrington Museum and Gallery and the Atkinson art gallery.
